There are several types of event tents to choose from:

* Party canopies are an inexpensive alternative. They are made of a lightweight material designed to keep the sun out.
* Pole tents are the strongest type of tent. They are more festive looking but less expensive than a frame tent.
* Pop-up canopies are small and lightweight. These are usually a do-it-yourself type of tent that is made with a collapsible frame.
* Frame tents use a metal frame with a vinyl cover. These have no center poles.
* Clear span tents also have no center poles and can be anchored using sand buckets.

When choosing the size of you tent, consider if you will have a dance floor, room for musical equipment, rows of chairs, or table seating. All tents need to be on a level surface. If there is no pre-existing level surface, one can be made using sub-flooring. For an elegant feeling, carpet can be laid down or you can use existing flooring such as the grass or concrete.

Take time to choose the best tent for your event. Don't forget you will need to add heating inside the tent on a cool evening. Same goes with air conditioning on warm days. Make sure that electricity is available for your tent site or you may be bringing in the battery operated musical equipment.

Many cities require permits for large tents, so be sure to check with your city. Choosing the right tent can assist in making your Event a successful experience.
